Decision tool
Vendor scorecard & ranked recommendation
Quick answer
Pick a category — billing, credentialing, EHR, or AI documentation — then weight six neutral criteria to match your practice's priorities. The scorecard applies your weights to our reviewed vendor rubric and returns a ranked recommendation with weighted scores, strengths, and red flags. Every ranking generates a citation-ready share link.
1. Choose a category
Scoring rubric and vendors come from our Billing & RCM vendor reviews — see methodology.
2. Weight what matters (0 = ignore, 5 = critical)
Right-sized for 1–10 provider practices, not enterprise health systems.
Feature completeness for the category — coverage of the core workflow.
Published pricing, plain-language contracts, honest SLAs.
Implementation quality, response times, named account contact.
APIs, HL7/FHIR, integrations with your existing stack.
Total cost relative to measurable outcomes delivered.
3. Ranked recommendation

AdvancedMD RCM
Full-service billing paired with a mature PM/EHR stack.
AdvancedMD RCM offers full-service billing bundled with its own practice management and EHR platform, favored by 5–50 provider groups. Pricing is percent-of-collections with clear tiers. Reporting is deeper than most small-practice vendors, and specialty workflows (mental health, PT, OB/GYN) are well-developed.

Frequently asked questions
How does the vendor scorecard rank vendors?+
Each vendor is scored 1–5 on six neutral criteria: independent-practice fit, product depth, pricing and contract transparency, support and onboarding, interoperability, and value. You set the weights, and the tool multiplies each score by its weight and normalizes the result to a 0–100 weighted-fit score.
Can I change the underlying scores for a vendor?+
Yes. The default scores come from our editorial reviews, but you can override any criterion for any vendor if you have direct evidence from demos, references, or contract language. Overrides only affect your local scorecard — they don't change the published reviews.
Which vendor categories does the scorecard cover?+
Four categories that independent practices buy most often: medical billing and RCM, credentialing and enrollment, EHR and practice management software, and AI documentation (ambient scribes). Switch category using the pillar selector at the top of the tool.
Is the scorecard tool free, and does it require sign-in?+
The scorecard is free to use and requires no account. Scenarios you save are stored locally in your browser, and shareable links encode your weights and overrides in the URL so any recipient can reproduce your ranking.
Are vendor rankings sponsored or paid?+
No. Rankings come from criteria-based editorial reviews. Vendors cannot pay for placement, reorder, or a higher score. See the methodology page for the full disclosure.
